October Snow

So it is October and we have a foot of snow up on top of the mountain right now. Crazy. I got up on top and couldn’t go much further than the last photo you see hear. There was a road crew trying to clear the snow off the road. I ran into another guy that had broken down on his four wheeler. He was on his way to work on the radio towers up there and had trouble with his ATV. I towed him all the way back down the mountain.

Summer Camping

4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. It is always fun to go spend time with family. We spent half the weekend in Spanish Fork and the other half in Huntington. These photos are all from the Huntington parade and fireworks. We watched the fireworks from the perfect location to get awesome photographs. Most people watch them from the opposite side from where we were. We were kind of far away, but the reflection in the lake made it so worth it.

So I have to say that I am really enjoying the new arial fireworks that we have access to for the first time legally in Utah. Man, we have been missing out! They are so much fun. We didn’t know quite what to expect on the first one we lit. As a result, mass chaos ensued. Kids running everywhere scared, crying, adults screaming. It was awesome. Not that I like to scare kids, but it was quite humorous.

Cedar City Sunset

I’ve got a bunch of stuff to post, just haven’t had time to put it on the blog yet. Here is one of my favorite Cedar City sunsets that I’ve seen in a while. Taken a couple of weeks ago. I love the gorgeous deep blue sky and the wispy clouds. Taken with my 24mm f1.4 lens. Have I mentioned how much I love this lens on the blog yet? I’ve been meaning to write a post about it. Soon.

Bryce Canyon – Didn’t Get What I Wanted

Second year in a row at Bryce Canyon that I didn’t get what I wanted. What I did get was grey overcast skys. The sun made a tiny glow on the horizon for about 1 minute and that was it.

I don’t regret getting up before sunrise and standing out in the cold. There is something amazing about being outside and soaking in the fresh air, sounds, smells, and scenery. Something I appreciate more and more the older I get. I forget how refreshing being outdoors is.

Maybe next time.

A Snowy Park Discovery

We are getting really tired of winter. Our boys wanted to go play at the park. We went despite the fact that it is covered in snow right now.

Baby Mine

I love that this moment is frozen it time forever. I love his messy collar and his messy hair. I love that he says “Love you so much.” I love that he loves the song Baby Mine from Dumbo. Such a cute age. Sometimes I wish he wouldn’t ever grow up, but there are fun things to look forward to in every stage of life.
