• Welcome to my blog!

I love photography! Pretty cliché I know. There is just so much to learn and explore. So many things to try. But the main reason I love photography is this "Photography is about savoring life at 1/100th of a second." - Marc Riboud

I am a portrait and wedding photographer based in Cedar City Utah. I also love landscape photography, but every great landscape I encounter, I can't help but think how much better the shot would be if I stuck a person in it.

Rough Day

Poor guy had a rough day when this photo was taken. He tripped and hit his head on cement and then later had his cousin’s tooth planted firmly in his forehead. No real harm done. Just scrapes, cuts, and bruises. A typical day really in the life of my boys.

Sweet little head. I’m glad he let me kiss it for him. Miss them a lot.

Summer

School just started up again. That means summer is over. In reality it’s not, but it feels like it. It is strange, as soon as school started I got this sudden feeling that fall is here. I think it was the combination of cooler nights and school starting up. My wife, boys and I had a great summer. We had more free time than we’ve had in about 3 years. We actually went on a real vacation this year. It was nice.

One of our latest trips was a family reunion. It was in Emery County and it rained and rained. At least two or three times. That is a lot for one weekend in Utah. We attended the Castle Valley Pageant. It rained for a half an hour before the pageant started. Some of our group sought shelter under a tarp. I stood out in the rain. It was awesome. I got soaked. The rain stopped just before the pageant started.

So there really is some summer left. I plan to take advantage of that. However, fall is my favorite time of year. I love it and I look forward to it. Anyway,  I digress. A few photos from a weekend trip below.

Love it! The photos are wonderful. I hope Kelly frames the one of Colton. It is a classic.

Seattle Vacation

I’ve been neglecting my blog lately. This summer has been busy and is practically over. Sad. I’ve had some good times though. We just recently got back from a nice week-long vacation to Seattle and the San Juan Islands. Beautiful up there. I hated to leave. We rode 5 ferries total and that was the highlight for my boys. They loved it.

Here are a few photos from our trip. One of our side trips was to Poulsbo. We love to go there just for Sluys’ Bakery. They make the best wedding cookies ever.

Aging Heros

It is sad to realize that there aren’t very many WWII veterans around any more. I think there are only three left in this group of American Legion members. My grandfather served in WWII and he passed away more than a decade ago. It is inspiring to see these men still honoring their country. These were taken at a Memorial Day celebration in Huntington Utah on May 31, 2010.

Grandma’s Birthday

This weekend we celebrated my grandmother’s 94th birthday. We made an up-and-back same day trip to Spanish Fork on Saturday.

My grandma moved to Utah from Georgia when my dad was 11 years old. She still has her southern accent. She still has two boys that live in Georgia. The second shot is one of them, my uncle Doug, hence the Georgia jacket:)
