• Welcome to my blog!

I love photography! Pretty cliché I know. There is just so much to learn and explore. So many things to try. But the main reason I love photography is this "Photography is about savoring life at 1/100th of a second." - Marc Riboud

I am a portrait and wedding photographer based in Cedar City Utah. I also love landscape photography, but every great landscape I encounter, I can't help but think how much better the shot would be if I stuck a person in it.

Christmas Lights @ 50mm f/1.8

I heard from a friend about a house here in Cedar that had a cool Christmas light display. So, last night I took my 2 boys out for a drive to check it out. My 4 year old wasn’t really excited about going out, but I knew he would like it. The house has one of those systems where the lights are synchronized to music. You pull up in front of the house and tune your radio to 106.7 FM and listen to Christmas music while the lights flash to the beat of the songs. My boys loved it and I thought it was pretty fun too.

I had my camera with me, so the drive ended up also being a bokeh Christmas light shoot. What could be funner than taking blurry pictures of Christmas lights on a Friday night:)

This is the house with the light show. If you are in Cedar, you should go check it out. It is on Cottontail Drive. You can’t miss it.

I really love bokeh. Christmas lights and a 50mm f/1.8 lens is just too irresistible for me. It is like I’m a kid in a candy store. I just shot in manual mode at f/1.8 with a 1/20th sec shutter speed and manually focused to get just the right amount of blur.
