I am not a country fan by any means. In fact, I think you might find 1 or 2 country songs in my 4,000+ iTunes library, and those songs came from soundtracks. On the other hand, I won’t pass up a fun photography opportunity. My wife and I went to visit family in Emery County this last weekend and it just so happened that the county fair was going on. They managed to book Emerson Drive to do a live concert. It was free, so what the heck, I went. I had my camera with me of course (it never leaves my side in case you were wondering). So, it looked like an opportunity for me to shoot some pics.
As the concert started, I walked up to the fence that was holding back fans from the stage and started taking some pictures. I happened to stand right behind the sheriff, who was just on the other side of the fence. He turned around, saw my camera, and said “do you want to come in here?” I’m not going to turn down that kind of offer, so I went in. I got to stand a few inches away from the band the whole concert and take pictures. I had a blast. Music is always better live, so I was able to bare the country for a while:) One observation, the last concert I went to was Muse, and Muse was 10x louder, maybe even more than that. I wore ear plugs at the Muse concert and we were not really close to the stage. The Emerson Drive concert, I didn’t even come away with ringing ears and I was right next to the speakers the entire time. Anyway, it was fun, despite not being a country music fan.

Here is a slideshow of all of my photos.
