I feel pretty lucky to live only 15 minutes away from Kolob Canyon. The problem is that I don’t go there very often. I’ve driven past it a million times, but only stopped there maybe four times. That is going to change. Today I bought an an annual pass to the National Parks so I can stop in whenever I want.
When I got there this evening, the skies were overcast. The light was pretty flat and boring. After an hour or so, I was ready to leave. It was cold and there didn’t look like much chance of the lighting situation changing. After I got all my gear in the car, I saw a possible break in the clouds. Decided to wait a few more minutes. Glad I did.
The main purpose of this little outing was to test out some new gear. I have to say that I am really happy with the gear. It is actually a really big step for my photography and I am excited. More on that later.
I love the raven in the first shot. The last shot is a 7 frame panorama.
